Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze opened the newly built Lasha Bekauri Sports Complex in the village of Arkhiloskalo, Dedoplistskaro Municipality, together with the Olympic champion.
The PM familiarized himself with the modern-standard sports complex and the work carried out by the Municipal Development Fund.
The complex incorporates a 100-seat judo and wrestling arena, as well as a multifunctional physical development and weightlifting hall.
The facility is equipped with central heating and air-conditioning systems, locker rooms and shower booths for athletes, separate rooms for coaches, referees, and physicians, also conference and administrative personnel spaces.
Besides facilitating physical training for athletes and sports aficionados, the modern-standard sports complex can host various tournaments and competitions.
The construction project was financed with 2,363,980 GEL from the state budget.
The event marking the opening of the complex was attended by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, and representatives of executive and legislative authorities.
