Merab Turava, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, announced that the court has a one-month period to consider constitutional lawsuits regarding the elections, as mandated by legislation. He noted that the question of convening a parliamentary session on November 25 has not been presented to the court.
Turava clarified that two election-related claims were filed with the Constitutional Court nearly simultaneously and are currently being reviewed together.
“Expedited procedures are unnecessary since the matter is already classified as urgent under current legal provisions. The maximum term allotted is one month; everything must be resolved within this timeframe. Work on both lawsuits commenced upon their registration, and the court’s decision will be published as soon as the initial stage is completed,” Turava stated.
He also mentioned that the court members were scheduled to convene later today to establish the precise timeline for their decision.
