A confrontation occurred in Tbilisi near the restaurant Babilo, where a protest rally was underway. Law enforcement officers detained several rally participants.
According to Sergi Bzishvili, Deputy Director of the Patrol Police Department, the individuals were detained under administrative law.
“They resisted police officers, threw eggs, blocked the road, and directed insulting remarks at law enforcement. Based on these actions, they are being detained under administrative law,” Bzishvili stated.
The protest occurred near the restaurant, which hosted a corporate party for judges. Demonstrators gathered several hours earlier, shouting at the arriving judges.
Tensions escalated when several judges left the venue. Protesters shouted and threw eggs at them, leading to verbal and physical altercations. Law enforcement officers intervened, arresting several individuals.
