“Georgia’s accomplishments, particularly in the tourism and aviation sectors, are genuinely impressive. Over 70 airlines operate direct flights to 120 destinations, including major European countries, from all three of the country’s international airports,” stated Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili during a panel discussion organised by the Business Association of Georgia (BAG).
The Minister highlighted the successful negotiations in 2024 with leading airlines such as British Airways, EasyJet, and Edelweiss, emphasising that the average load factor for all flights arriving in Georgia ranged between 92 and 98 per cent.
“We are witnessing diversified growth in tourism, which aligns with the government’s policy to raise awareness of our country in nations with affluent tourism markets. The results in 2024 have been particularly encouraging. Tourism revenue reached a record USD 4.4 billion. It is also noteworthy that the average expenditure per tourist visit has increased significantly, along with the average number of overnight stays,” she explained.
