Tbilisi Mayor: Traitors cannot return to power

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze on Wednesday addressed the ruling Georgian Dream party supporters at a closing pre-election rally in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, declaring “traitors cannot return to power.”

“If you don’t love your motherland, how can you respect another country?” the Mayor went on.

In his speech, Kaladze stated that “a stateless person is more dangerous than an enemy as he signs all kinds of filth.”“I want to remember the decisive role Tbilisi played in the country’s existence in 2012. The Georgian people, united around [GD honorary chair] Bidzina Ivanishvili, rejected violence, cruelty, falsehoods, and fraud, which the so-called allies of Georgia used to deem the “beacon of democracy,” and even now, regrettably, they are attempting to bring them back to power via such pressure and blackmail.

They directly meddle with elections and the country’s political life. External powers cannot accept that Georgia did not share Ukraine’s tragedy and did not join the sanctions.

They attempt to demonstrate that LGBT propaganda embodies liberalism and humanism, transparency is anti-democratic, and white is black.

They claim that the Georgian people should not be aware that extremists, also known as non-governmental organizations, have the authority to get finances and utilise them to fight individuals, plan revolutions, and finance extremism,” Kakha Kaladze asserted.

The parliamentary elections in Georgia are slated for 26 October.

CEC calls on ISFED to publish PVT results to address gender statistics concerns

The Central Election Commission (CEC) is urging the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) to disclose the results of the Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) to dispel any concerns regarding potential manipulations of gender statistics. During a briefing, CEC Spokesperson Natia Ioseliani explained that, due to the vote-counting methodology and specific circumstances, there were only slight discrepancies in gender statistics at a few polling stations, attributable to voters listed on special registries. “We remind the public that voters on special lists cast their ballots at designated polling stations. These individuals include election administration staff, inmates, and military personnel who vote at addresses different from their registered ones due to their work conditions. There are 11 such polling stations, and the discrepancies involved approximately 150 voters,” Ioseliani noted. The CEC Spokesperson also emphasized that the PVT results would effectively eliminate allegations of significant discrepancies. “ISFED has indicated that it conducted the PVT on Election Day, October 26 and that these results align fully with the preliminary data published by the CEC. Therefore, we call on ISFED to publish the results of the Parallel Vote Tabulation rather than fostering misconceptions. The PVT data will clarify any uncertainties regarding voter turnout, gender distribution, and other statistical aspects of the election results,” she stated.

PM: If someone objects to Law On Family Values and Protection of Minors, specify which parts they disagree with

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters in Budapest that “if someone has objections about the Law On Family Values and Protection of Minors, they should specify which articles and norms they disagree with.” According to Kobakhidze, “The law is about determining whether a man is a man and whether a woman is a woman. This must be spelt out.” “Many European nations’ laws allow any man to instantly transition into a woman and then back to a man. Our law aims to prevent it. We believe it is completely ugly. Therefore, we need legislation that protects our country from such developments, safeguards schools from LGBT propaganda, and addresses child protection and primary concerns,” Kobakhidze explained.
