Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili visited the Davit Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy and the First Infantry Brigade of the Eastern Command in the town of Gori.
The president was hosted by Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani, Chief of Defence Forces Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, and other officials.
During his visit, Mikheil Kavelashvili inspected the Academy’s infrastructure, including classrooms, the canteen, hospital, recreational areas, and sports facilities, and he left an inscription in the guest book.
He also learned about the objectives of the military unit at the First Infantry Brigade.
“My first visit symbolically took place at the defence forces,” Kavelashvili remarked. “I familiarized myself with their goals, infrastructure, and conditions for trainees. Everything is well arranged. I am pleased that our military officials ensure trainees’ training at a high level. I am confident that their motivation to defend the country is exceptionally high. I had the opportunity to witness all of this firsthand,” he added.
