The trial of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is accused of illegally crossing the state border of Georgia, is ongoing in the Tbilisi City Court.<\/p>\n

At today’s trial, the parties will make introductory remarks. At the same time, the preventive measure of imprisonment for the former President will also be revised.<\/p>\n

Mikheil Saakashvili joins the session remotely from the Vivamed clinic, without a visual image.<\/p>\n

For information, the investigation into the illegal crossing of the border by Mikheil Saakashvili began on October 1, 2021. In the framework of the mentioned case, charges have been brought against 4 more persons – Elguja Tsomaia, Zurab and Shalva Tsotsoria and Giorgi Narimandize.
