The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, extends his New Year’s greetings to the citizens.
In his congratulatory message, the Speaker reflects on 2024 as a year marked by many victories. However, he emphasizes that the upcoming year, 2025, will be a turning point for Georgia’s ultimate success.
“I wish each of you, and all of Georgia, two things in particular in the New Year: peace and unity. The historical journey of our homeland has never been easy, but in recent years, both Georgia and the world have faced extraordinary challenges— a global pandemic, escalating wars nearby, and dangerous geopolitical tensions.
These times have taught us the true value of peace, strength, wisdom, caution, and foresight. We now understand the weight of our responsibility—to safeguard the treasures bestowed upon us by God and our ancestors: our country, its history, its past, present, and future.
Therefore, the only wise choice for us is a policy of peace. At the same time, we know that, alongside peace, the key to Georgia’s success lies in a principle passed down by our ancestors—strength lies in unity. This simple truth has shaped Georgia throughout its history, and continues to guide our present and future. When we are united, we are strong, and when we are strong, we always succeed.
Unity, agreement, and strength have been the foundation of Georgia’s survival, progress, and development. The year 2024 brought many victories, but our greatest success still lies ahead. I believe 2025 will mark a turning point for our homeland’s ultimate victory. We have succeeded in strengthening our country’s sovereignty, national identity, and peace. Now, in the coming year, we must strive for the well-being and unity of our nation.
Happy New Year! May God protect Georgia and bless our families!” concludes the congratulatory message from the Speaker.
