“I would like to emphasize and call on everyone who has contact with psychotropic medicines that the government will not tolerate the improper, unprescribed use of such medications,” stated Mikheil Sarjveladze, Georgian Health Minister.
According to the Minister, incorrect activities will not be left without a response.
Mikheil Sarjveladze explained that through the implemented reform, prices of psychotropic medicines have decreased significantly, thus increasing accessibility for those who actually need them. Therefore, control over their prescription and selling will be tightened.
“I would request doctors who prescribe medicines that under no circumstances should any misconduct be allowed. If some misconduct is observed, and there may be such, we will respond adequately,” the Minister warned.
